PMO Global Institute Inc. (PMOGI) proudly announces the official evolution of its flagship certification from Certified Baseline PMO Consultant (CB-PMO)® to Certified Business eXcellence PMO Consultant (CB-PMO)®, alongside the release of the updated Exam Content Outline 2026 and a newly redesigned digital badge.
These changes reflect PMOGI’s continued commitment to advancing global PMO standards and aligning its certifications with modern enterprise needs focused on business value, governance maturity, strategic alignment, and transformation leadership.
The certification abbreviation CB-PMO® remains unchanged to preserve brand continuity and global recognition. However, the revised full name significantly strengthens the positioning of the credential as a business driven, consulting grade certification for senior PMO professionals.
Elevating from Baseline to Business eXcellence
The transition from “Baseline” to “Business eXcellence” represents a strategic shift in emphasis:
- From foundational PMO structures to enterprise value creation
- From administrative oversight to strategic advisory capability
- From operational focus to executive level business alignment
- From support function to business excellence engine
The enhanced name more accurately reflects the depth, scope, and consulting rigor expected of CB-PMO® certified professionals operating in complex organizational environments.
Updated CB-PMO® Exam Content Outline 2026
In parallel with the name enhancement, PMOGI has refined the CB-PMO® Exam Content Outline 2026 – Version 4.0 to strengthen competency based assessment and real world application.
The examination maintains its five domain framework, covering:
- PMO Foundation and Strategic Alignment
- PMO Execution and Delivery Excellence
- PMO Support Functions and Governance
- PMO Leadership and Stakeholder Management
- Emerging Practices and AI Enabled PMO
The updated blueprint reinforces strategic thinking, governance maturity, consulting competence, and performance driven PMO leadership. The examination assesses not only conceptual knowledge, but also application, analytical ability, and scenario based decision making aligned with the PMOGuidebook® framework.
Introduction of the New CB-PMO® Digital Badge
As part of this evolution, PMO Global Institute is introducing a redesigned CB-PMO® digital badge, effective 1 April 2026.
The new badge reflects the Business eXcellence positioning and enhances the global professional prestige of the certification. While the abbreviation remains unchanged, the visual identity has been upgraded to represent strategic maturity, consulting authority, and enterprise credibility.
All candidates certified on or after 1 April 2026 will receive the new badge design. Existing credential holders will continue to remain fully recognized under the updated certification framework and may request the refreshed badge through PMOGI support.
Effective Date
The updated certification name, revised exam content outline, and new badge design will officially take effect on 1 April 2026.
All examinations conducted on or after this date will operate under the new certification title.
